March has arrived, and with it comes the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Acura Carland wants to make you aware of some great events going on this month that are fun for the whole family. Celebration is not limited to one day out of the month. There are a wide variety of options to enjoy the holiday from parades to an evening out with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. No matter what you like to do, there is something for everyone this St. Patrick’s Day.
The fun begins on March 11 with the 2017 St. Patrick’s Day Parade 5k at 10 AM. After the race, it is time to start finding a good location to observe the 135th Annual Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day parade. Prior to the parade, free face painting will be available to both children and adults. The parade will travel through Midtown Atlanta on Peachtree Street. The St. Patrick’s Day parade will roll rain or shine at noon and is expected to last roughly one and a half hours. After the parade, stick around for Luck of the Square at Colony Square. Enjoy live musical performances, dancing, and fantastic Irish food, and the festivities don’t end there.
The 13th Annual Shamrock N’ Roll Road Race at Atlantic Station will begin at 8:30 AM on March 12. This set of family-friendly races include a 5k, 10k, and 1k Belk Kids’ Fun Run. Check-in begins at 7 AM. These races welcome runners, walkers, strollers, and dogs alike. For a more elegant celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the Atlanta Symphony’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration may be the perfect thing for you.
The Atlanta Symphony is teaming up with the Grammy-nominated Irish-American group, Cherish the Ladies, at 8 PM March 17-18. Cherish the Ladies are considered one of the world’s top Celtic bands. For over 30 years, they have captivated audiences with their instrumental talents, arrangements of classic Irish folk songs, and impressive vocals.
